Glenn Durrant
Wellwise Group Operations Manager

I have worked in Africa, Hungary, Poland, Israel, France, Holland, Aberdeen, and locally. These locations provided land work and offshore work, on HPHT gas & oil wells & H2S wells, for a variety of clients including Expro North Sea and Schlumberger.

Mark Cox
Well Test Supervisor

The service is fantastic. It's dealing with people who know the industry well and a company that doesn't base it's performance on numbers, that makes these guys stand out above the rest.

Joe Routledge
Well Test Operator

Why do we ask for experienced personnel?

May 07, 2014

It's a good question, and one we get asked a lot - so why do we require job specific experience from our potential contractors?

A great deal of the work undertaken is at offshore locations where space and therefore accommodation is limited. To get to the work site often involves a helicopter flight, and this means considerable costs mount up just to get workers to the location.

It’s therefore inevitable that our clients are not in a position to incur such costs without getting value from the situation and that means the delivery of people who are going to be able to undertake specialist work without compromising safety or the facility security due to a lack of knowledge or expertise.

Our business is sits within an area of the industry where experienced oilfield professionals, with proven competence in their field of expertise, are required. We currently specialise in the following disciplines:

Well Test Technicians: Well Test Operators; Well Test Senior Operators; Well Test Supervisors; Data Acquisition Specialists;

Slickline/Wireline Operators: Slickline Supervisors; Wireline Operators and Wireline Supervisors;

Well Intervention Technicians: Subsea Specialists; DST/TCP Specialists; Nitrogen Supervisors; Coiled Tubing Supervisors; Slickline Operators and Slickline Supervisors; Fluid Pump Supervisors; Equipment Operators; Bolting Technicians and Supervisors.

The majority of  people that  join  WWG have gained experience by working for service providers in the industry prior to becoming a contractor, This means they will have already undertaken theoretical and practical training - qualities which are constantly in demand by our clients.

We are fully aware that experience is hard to acquire for new-starters in the industry, and we suggest that anyone looking to get started in the industry contacts any one of the large oil service companies, looking out for trainee schemes or apprenticeships.
